Slowing down, dammit!

Hi all:

From this point on, there’ll be  fewer posts than hitherto.

I launched Dammit   to keep myself  and my mind, busy,  as much as anything else, and  it’s  helped to keep me on the way to recovery from my various health problems.

I’ve tried to do posts  that were interesting and relevant and, I hope, occasionally informative.

And  thanks to the generosity and support of my friends at FrostWire  and iVideo Converter, it’s also helped  to keep the wolf from the door, although I can hear its  growls getting louder…

But the road is getting bumpy mainly because it’s harder for me to see  the dips and rises, literally.   One of the deficits,’ in medicalese, resulting from  the stroke I suffered  last year is called hemispatial neglect.  It means  I  have a visual vacuum, if I can describe it like that.   Put another way certain  visual fields of vision no longer exist  for me.

I don’t know  where  they are  because I can’t see them 🙂  but they certainly affect  my ability  to create sentences,  And that makes it extremely difficult  for me to keep track of what I’m  trying to post.

Say P A, Malhotra and M Husain, division of neuroscience and psychological medicine, Imperial College London, “The syndrome of hemispatial neglect is characterised by reduced awareness of stimuli on one side of space, even though there may be no sensory loss … it has proven to be a challenging condition to understand, and to treat.”

So,  I’m slowing down, dammit! —  or more correctly,  I’m slowing dammit down 😉
