She’s also asking Laureen Harper, the wife of  prime  minister Stephen Harper , to show up.

“ Please put the words out she asks, adding ,

“Take your Tobacco offerings and request that this is so.”

That was the Christmas Day message on Idle No More, the webpage  which has become become the rallying point for  First Nations chief Theresa Spence, chief of the Attawapiskat First Nation as she began the thirteenth day of the hunger strike  she started 10 days ago.

Spence has been living in a teepee on Victoria Island since Dec. 11.

“She vowed to starve to death if her demand to meet with the  prime  minister  are not met.”

More than a year ago, Attawapiskat declared a housing emergency and they ‘re  still not out of the woods, says the  CBC, going on.

“And they brought national attention to their issue. And people are seeing that and feeling that.”
